2 weeks before Central Zone waterfowl start, same as every other year.

It's looking like that may be early this year.

Central Zone opens Oct.28, so 2 weeks before that is close of Maz/Braidwood.

Location: Not quite over the hill, but has a breathtaking view from the lofty perch.

Took a last trip to the pits today and saw many of our hunter friends busy getting the blinds ready. After their enjoyment of our shared resourse I will again enjoy those fish on some hard water. Got some preparing to do to ready myself for that,

Shoot straight and call loud my waterfowl friends. Glad we can both enjoy those waters.

water temps in the low 70's and a few gills to show for the effort today, but the weather was beautiful. Nothing worthy of pictures, but fun none the less.

Bluegills and crappies have been sharing same locations and both are schooling up against structure in 23 to 33 foot of water depending on the lake.
Redears are in like depths as well.
