we fished it 1st week of may and limits every day. the lake was flat all 3 days and that's very rare. it's hard to plan it looks good and then turns to shinola and you can't get out. good luck

Hey bruce, I'm coming up there April 20th and staying for a few days. I'm renting a house about a mile from Magees, so I'll be close. When I get up there I'll pm you and maybe we can compare notes. I'm primarily going to start jigging right out in front then try some trolling , probably by K can. I'll be in a new to me boat so there will be a bit of adjustment for me but if they're on the reefs it's pretty much shut off the motor and start thumping those jigs :)

Last year we could have stayed within a mile of K can and got limits everyday. jigging hair jigs or plastics.
We also got some on blades and shiver minnows. If it got slow jigging we got bigger fish trolling deep bandits.

Best time for big fish is now. Open water trolling bandits, deep husky jerks, perfect 10's is the ticket! Not uncommon to catch fish 10 lbs or better (pre spawn). Limits of eater males off the reefs usuall pretty fast & furious with blade baits & hair jigs. Im in Florida now or would be on Erie this week.

The West end is very dirty right now with more strong winds predicted. The fish are there but the weather needs to settle down.
