Took the day off of work yesterday to head up to Clements fishing barge in Genoa, WI. We left Monday night as we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. This was my second time up and my fiances first time there and the barge did not disappoint. We had to sort through some smaller fish but had our limit of perfect eaters before 2 o'clock when we left. Probably caught about 30 fish all together. Had a mixed bag of Sauger and Walleye. Had one Walleye at 20" and a few fat 15"+ Sauger. As always, Mark was very hospitable. Walleyes and a few sauger came in on hair jigs tipped with minnows. smaller sauger came in on a 3 way river rig. I started nailing them in the last hour when I tied on one of those floating hair jigs Mark always talks about. Get out there while Clements is still open!

Did I mention she can flat out fish? Shes never fished the Mississippi before and there was some heavy current yesterday! No problem for her, had fish coming in on the 3/4 ounce hair jig in no time! When I asked her how she picked up the technique so quick, she responded with "I'm just doing what the old guys are doing"

They sell them on the barge and at captain hooks in town as well. I fished them using a three way about 6 inches off the bottom.

Two of the greatest young fishermen around! You betcha she is a good one to keep and I can voucher for that! She has out-fished many and I have proof! Now don't let these two kid you! They are fine fishermen and for those of you that have fished the Barge you would acknowledge the fact that its not that easy to fish there and be successful. The guy next to you can be nailing them and you are using the same exact rig and you are sitting there cussing as to why can't I catch them? Frankie you guys have done well. Better than last time. Way to go. Love to see that stringer!!!

Nice fish Frank, was it very crowded that day? Trying to figure out a day next week to get up there before it closes for the season.

Was a little crowded in the morning but nothing compared to what its like on the weekend. I'd probably recommend Monday through Wednesday if you can get out there during those days.
