What a long day. Reminds of my younger years running up to the wolf river for a day trip. Left at 130AM, and got back home at midnight. Lots of fishing and some catchin. Big fish were hard to come buy. Found plent of marks, but couldnt get the higher fish to go. Had to work on deeper fish, who seemed to cooperate a little more. Got a limit. Largest was 6lbs, smallest about 17 inches. Some fine eaters. Lots of folks were struggling out there. One of the other boats fishing with us zeroed. Another got 1 - 9lber. They did not want a reef runner at all. No matter what. We ended up slowing way down around 1.3 MPH and using deep huskys in Blue/Chrome/Orange belly. Shiner and Gold/Black took some fish, but it was blue/chrome/orange the whole way.

Those Quinte fish are about as golden as a walleye can get.
Gorgeous fish Mark and a long day that I would long to have.

Mark, You show those dandy Walleye and folks might think they can do is as well if they knew where to find them. Walleye are an elusive species and even though you might be on top of them they are hard to come by as you know best. You have done AWESOME my friend!

It was a good day. me and the 9 year are fishing with my buddy sheldon hatch on Nov 19. Lookin to get the boy a new PB, to surpass that 5lber he got on winnebago a few years back. We are psyched. 3 day event. Stay in Belleville ON (outside toronoto) on Thursday night. Eat badly, swim and stay up a little longer than normal. Friday fish all day, then back to the room for swim. Sat its hockey hall of fame and CNN tower in Toronto. Nice weekend for the fellas.
Fish weighed in a 6-10, 5-4, 4-5, and 2-2lbers. Just finished cleaning em. Gonna have NICE feesh fry for da BEEG game! HA!

Yeah, this was a different bite for us. Post cold frontal pattern. Water still seemed kinda warm at 53 I think. We could not get anything to go on Reef Runners. Nothing. Threw on a deep husky for sheets and grins and wouldn't you know it, it gets whacked. A good, solid pull back of the board. You know its a good fish. Bright belly was the key along with the softer "roll". That wild side to side of the reef runner wasnt what they wanted. Speed didn't change. Also noticed if we were NOT over 100feet plus, there was nothing on the locator. The 100 to 110 FOW was best with the baits running 22 to 30 feet down, around 1.3 to 1.5 or so. Constant crazy ivans, with a few good stalls thrown in.
Once you zipper those walleyes and cut em down, they are quite tastee. Fish fry was a big hit. Man, I thought those Bills had em. Smoked pork shoulder turned out excellent. Just a salt and pepper rub.
