Bubbalouie, myself and Franka had a great time this weekend working around Castle Rock and eating a ton of good food. It was tough putting a pattern together Saturday after the rain. By Sunday morning we got into them trolling Kaboom Nitro Shiners around the old river channel and surrounding flats. Then like a switch the pressure fell off the map and they shut down late in the afternoon. We struggled to put another fish in the boat Monday and called it quits around The Fingers at noon.
Looks like when Bruce fishes on my boat, there's only pics of him and the inverse when I fish on his boat
Here's one of the marble eyed beauties!

Franka doesn't like me much. Nice eye, about 5-1/2 pounds?

john very nice Wally!!! Why did I KNOW there was gonna be a mention of food here? Maybe because Bubbalouie was with you? Did he have visions of brownies distracting him? I know there was a sammich involved in this adventure that was worth a pic!!

Yep- tough fishing in the ultra low pressure- that one Wally in the pic was one nice fatty- hopefully we'll catch her again.

And yes Geo the food was good. We even came home with food- amazing and I didn't even try the oven to see how it baked brownies- didn't have too.

Great trip- and yes Franka was a little annoyed at Esox- he said she couldn't go in the boat fishing and she trashed the cabin- even popped a discarded a light bulb, she was so pissed! Bad enuff Popeye never takes her fishing. I had to calm her down the last few days and showed her a picture to remind her better days were coming!!

I love this time of year: their bellies get so fat they're hard! Did you stick a transmitter on her so you could meet up again in about 3 months?

My biggest American Walleye came off of the "fingers" some 20 years ago.

I was really afraid Franka would have eaten all the Gulp! Jigging was worthless beside a couple whitebass that hit like they meant something.
The sammiches, well, I made them one day and Bruce them the next. We're still not sure what M&M means eventhough B wrote it on the bags.... Regardless we ate em up.

What a great system it is. So much stuff and so many fish. I might have to look for a cheap place to buy and take advantage of the opportunity someday.

Tiny, I know there's some eyes hanging on the Fingers right now but locals are beating it up pretty good. I'd focus further south once the temps drop more. We had 54ish and think its a bit early still. Maybe this weekend.

Popeye, she went 5.5 on the nose and back in the drink. Maybe this weekend I'll pop that 10.6 on the jig stick.

When the pressure drops, the only way I've been able to catch any walleye is to vertical jig a heavy spoon with a ripping motion in 20+ feet of water. Not a fun way to fish but it will trigger reaction strikes on a blue bird day.

That's a good one John! Bruce, I bet the dog would be happy to trade the hat for some boots. :D

Thanks for the tip Nitebite. The temp at one spot was 55.5, another 54.5 that I noticed. So maybe the water was a little warm yet. Maybe that was what Esox was trying to tell me to be "AWARE" of at 2:00 a.m. while I was sleeping.

And Bearsfan- Franka does have a pair of boots- the wife wouldn't think of her going out in the winter on the ice without boots- gee, maybe I should tell the wife Franka needs a new trolling rod set up.....
