Had a fun time fishing Huron Ohio for some walleyes as they stage near the river mouth. Plenty of fish to be found. Stayed at the Rivers Edge Inn, drank beer at the I5's. and had some dinner at the Brass Pelican. What a nice town.

Best lure was deep diving reef runner 110 to 150 behind the board in either go go dancer or glass perch at 1.3 to 1.5 MPH. We were about 4 to 5 mile out front of the Huron River Mouth.

Fistful of walleyes

A nice one. See that white speckle on the shore? Thats sawmill convention and resort center.

Nice Mark! And to think I was just kidding you about walleye's not bending a rod or taking drag. Those certainly did, nice fish. Hey I know nothing of that great fishery Lake Erie but it seems every time I see a picture of an eye from that water that they are pale almost more silver than that nice golden walleye color of your post. In Canada from stained water it's gold with a almost black back. My imagination or a seasonal change in Ohio?

I think a lot of it has to do with the water color and diet. Check out this fish taken a few weeks earlier out of the bay of quinte. Very golden in color.

Awesome! Impressive catch!
Since I was a kid (centuries ago), I read about musky fishing in the St Lawrence, in Field and Stream, and thought that was the place to catch the monsters.

Sweet pics! Looks like you had a great trip. I'm hoping to get on Lake Erie for the first time Spring 2011. Can't wait!
