Going to Lake Webster next weekend to try for crappie & muskie's. Not looking at getting a charter, but was wondering what type of muskie baits to use in the fall?

There's several different options, but to keep it simple:
Swimbaits: (10"Kicking Minnow, Dawgs/Curley Sues, ect..)
Glide Baits: (Several good ones, but a easy one for just starting out & that is readily available: Hellhound)
Big Blades: (Double 10's & 13's moderate/slow retrieve)
Topwater Tail Rotator: (Several good ones, a simple choice that again is readily available: Top Raider.)

A sucker hanging down over the side, is a must & no brainer.

Chas E is right on. If I could go to Webster w/ 5 baits I would have a White Kickin' Minnow, a Black Double 10 and Black Double 13, a natural colored Hellhound, and a Pounder in Walleye or Black. A good way to pattern those fish is to use a Blade/Kickin' Minnow combo to start....

Stayed at fishermans cove resort on the water. Besides some good fishing stories by others, not a fish was caught. Everyone was having no luck what so ever. We tried for crappie, minnows, crappie rigs, mepps spinners. Tried trolling, sucker fishing and casting for muskies. Not a bite. We did hear that the dnr sprayed for weeds last week that caused all the fish to move into deeper water...
