Did a little Sturgeon fishing with my two good buddies this September on the Menominee river, Just north of Green Bay about 35 miles. We did pretty good considering we were a couple of rookies going up there, but managed to pop our Sturgeon cherry on some nice fish. Sturgeon are SUPER-FISH with acrobatics that almost equal some salt-water species and they bull dog like a flathead catfish. Arguably the hardest fighting freshwater fish pound for pound that I've seen. Some fish launched themselves completely out of the water several times on all sides of the boat.We caught a bunch of fish but these are the bigger ones( well, at least the ones we landed) Sorry for the small pictures. maybe somebody can resize them or john can put up bigger pics

Thanks guys. We fished a gob of crawlers on the bottom and also experimented with cut bait. Both baits took fish. Cut bait kept the dinks off. John, we stayed Menominee at the campground on the river. Camping was a blast. Little cold at night but tolerable. As many of you know, I AM THE CAMP COOK. We ate like kings up there. Gourmet with a griddle and coleman stove( thanks dad)

iBeen to that area once, camped at some "Rustic Daves" camp site... or some thing like. Pretty area, great catches. I'll have to target those one day.
