Had about an hour to kill so got some worms and went to Beck. They did a weed kill on the lake. Fished on the NE side on across from the southern tip of the island. Got 2 bass - 1 10 inches and 2 bluegills drifting a worm about 24 inches below a slip bobber. Fun on ultra light. Didn't see much else caught. One guy near the parking lot said he got a bullhead.

I'm sure they have a good reason for the weed kill, I'm just disappointed in the timing. Wish they'd just leave them through the winter so we had some nice edges to key in on.

Agreed on the timing. Personally I believe that it should be done early spring.

The weed kill on Beck is always Memorial weekend or there abouts. I'm with BillyMac, never enough weeds left for hard water. I think they added to much chemicals the past couple years, none ever come back till the following summer.

Gotta love the new boat lunch.

Wow, didn't even know they redid the boat launch. I remember before even launching a john boat we had to get the front tires of the truck wet just to get the boat in! Haven't been there in forever!

I hate these weed kills. It might make it a little easier to fish from shore, but man does it kill a lake!
