Went to Wampum a few times this seasonand for all you blue gill enthusiasts this is the lake to go to!!!!! I caught a nice red ear about a pound!!!! and with lake being strictly catch and release on blue gills I am sure there are many more where that came from! The Blue gill seem to be everywhere though you need to hole jump a bit to get away from the dinks! I usually fish a hole for 6 fish then move on if there are no size to them. This Lake is fished often so I didnt even have to drill many holes just kick the thin layer on a previos drill and give it a shot!!!This small FP lake also holds a suprise or bonus there are Pikes in there!!!!pretty good size to them also. The Crappie fishing is off and on but when its on alot of slabbers are being taken.Other species include Large Mouth Bass, sunfish, catfish, and bullhead! A graet little lake to take the kids as I said b-4 the bluegills are allways there and dont forget your meal worms or spikes!!!!! (IF You need directions or any info or want a partner to fish with on a Sunday drop me a PM)

Have to read your Illinois regs. wsj. It is a site specific regulation and is not posted anywhere at Wampum Lake site.
