I hit Waukegan to try the harbor by South Rocks this afternoon - South Rocks itself is still too muddy to fish effectively.

All in all, the big skunk today. I tried floating eggs and shrimp, had a frozen shad on the bottom, and tossed a white tube jig tipped with shrimp, but no takers. There were another 4 or so anglers out at different ponts during the day but they didn't land anything either.

Ice is starting to form in the harbor. At about 3pm the ice from the far inner harbor broke free with a strong west wind and came floating down the channel. A few more nights like last night and we will be seeing a lot more ice!

Tim at The Salmon Stop relayed that steelies were crusing up and down Government Pier, and that snaggers were after them on the outer wall. Apparently they do not pay attention when you let them know that it is illegal to snag steelies! Maybe floating some shrimp legally on GP will put the ellusive steelie on my stringer. The browns should be coming in soon too.

not their fault....their IQ's are not high enough to know the difference between a spawning King salmon and a trout....
