is it me or do the kings look like malnourished zombie fish this year, all they do is chase away all the perch an porpoise,to annoy fishermen, maybe IDNR should stock walleyes instead of kings, keep the cohos though they taste great, those kings are the real garbage fish of lakemichigan

Great introductory post Ted Cantwait. I do agree with one thing - those Salmon must have chased away all the "porpoises"- I haven't caught one yet.

That garbage fish you speak of supports a multi million dollar sportfishing industry around the Great Lakes. From boats and fuel, to tackle, charters, retailers, mom and pop bait shops... There are still big fish to be had out there. Fall is not the only time to chase them. :winker

Well, there are a bunch of malnourished zombies every year. It's part of their life cycle. If you want a real garbage fish to target, try gobies.

Love fishing for Salmon- but! .......shore fishing in Illinois gets worse every year. Every year I think twice about buying the salmon stamp.

So basically everyone is saying Kenosha is the way to go? I fished Waukegan last Tuesday but all that kept hitting were 5-6" Coho? Otherwise it was a school swimming back forth not hitting anything just waiting to die.

Ktown is doing very poorly this year. I have fished there multiple times and i saw 1 fish caught each time I was there. Some people think that the DNR fudged on the stocking one year, which in turn caused fewer mature fish to return to the harbor this year. Hopefully its just a bad year class. However, most of the harbors have been doing poorly this year. I think it's because of that.
