After the rain ended in Waukegan around mid-day I decided to see if I could entice a coho, steelie or brown into the net. The kings and cohos were still jumping in the harbor, and large schools (10-15 fish) of kings were swiming up and down the walls looking for their non-existent spawning stream. The South Rocks area was muddy after the rain and strong WSW winds, and no one was casting into the strong wind and crashing 2-3 foot waves. The snaggers were still lined up on the north side of Government Pier, but not too many people were trying to cast further out on GP.

Although a bit early for the real steelhead and brown bite (water is still warm), I put shrimp out on one rod and bounced a white tube jig on the other. I've had luck lately with the tube jig lately with the kings, and others have pulled in coho, but no luck today - nothing! The storms and the changing pressure systems may have turned the bite off for the time I was out. Even the stockers left the shrimp alone - a first in a month.

Fish Men and Bass1388 texted from a northern excursion in the late afternoon that it was the same story for them. Perhaps when the barametrics conditions stabilize the bite will return to something closer to normal.

Decided to try a new spot from the one I went last week so I went to K town. Fished there from 11 pm till lik 7 am. At around 1 I caught a nice sized nasty king. Then saw a nice male steelie and another fish get caught. Not much action at all, specially for the number of people that were there and the number of hours I was there.
