Since i didnt want to battle the tough crowds in the moring, i went out in the afternoon and the crowd wasnt that bad and the action was just as good as the moring i would think.i ended the day with a 2 man limit and my freind caleb and amanda each got 4 just one shy of a limit.most fish were cought on powerbait on the bottom a couple were cought on night crawlers on the bottom aswelll.

Image

are bigest fish was a 16 incher. But overall a change a pace and i had fun.

Fish men,
Are you leaving out a few details? A limit is a limit, not just an alternitive way to count.

I see four people there and 14 fish. Perfectly legal.

Blackwell was a zoo yesterday morning for the opener. Boats were wall-to-wall. The fishing pier was so loaded with people I thought it was going to sink!

We tried to keep our boat away from the others, most of which were concentrated near the fishing pier.
We didn't land a trout, but we did OK on some keeper crappie and bluegill.

Saw some trout taken mostly from the fishing pier. They were smaller than past years.
Overall, it seemed to be a slow morning as compared to other openers at Blackwell.

dedfisher,
I may have been a little too sacrastic. poking a little fun at the guy for not giving the kid some credit. At the risk of seeming too sarcastic again. is a picture all that's needed to make things legal?

Fish Men: looks like you had a great time with your brother and friends. I've seen that same smile with kings and browns on LM!

As my family in the south says, "That's a mess of fine eatin' you've got there!"

Is the October slam made up of: king, brown, coho, steelie and inland trout?

James I knew you were legal...I saw your little brother!! MarTea and I took a ride over to Axehead lake Sat about noon. She said whooa all these people sooo close together. (they were about 3-4 feet apart). Then as we walked around the lake we found a spot that 20 people were fishing shoulder to shoulder...you couldnt get a popsicle stick between them...they were actually touching!! There were even a few in the back row casting over the people in front of them...total insanity!!! MarTea said this is nuts...my reply was now you know why we arent out on opening day!!! There might be less fish come tomorrow...but at least the experience will be more enjoyable!

Ive caught a few at silver springs but real had to work for them i think theres two many people on opening day and they fished the trout out over the weekend. My advise to anyone fishing there is go somewhere else because almost everyone there yesterday got skunk two other people and i in the morning.
