Since there were storms around all day yesterday didn't feel comfortable taking the boat out so I figured id scratch the itch and try my luck in the harbor. Fished mainly on the harbor side working up and down government pier until the next round of storms forced me to pack it in. Zero bites, I tried a gold and orange blue fox pixie spoon and a green deep diving crank. I got a tip from another fisherman he thinks that they are in the harbor now cause the big black cormorants are diving in the harbors, supposedly for king eggs.

IMO the cormorants showed up after they released the fingerling Stealhead a few weeks ago and haven't left.

Went to South Rocks this morning, got one 23" Northern Pike on Moonshine. Saw a couple of guys sitting in a boat by the harbor mouth land two kings. Talked to another guy who fished overnight, he landed 3 kings. Even though kings aren't in great numbers, they're definitely moving in.

Definitely not legal... yet. I think snagging is allowed from Oct 1 to Dec 31, and only in the north harbor.

Just an update from today...
Fished from 0445 to around 1030 in a kayak. Caught a 4 lb coho trolling a Berkeley Dredger 10.5. Only saw one guy on the end of the pier with a king. Talked to another guy as he was leaving and he said that was the only guy with a king this morning. I was marking a bunch of fish, and saw plenty of salmon surfacing, but came up empty on the kings.
