I've heard about Burnham harbor but where abouts in the harbor is a decent spot? The only place I know how to get to is in front of McCormick place.

in front of the McCormick Place fountain is as good a spot as any through there... But, if you can get south a bit, the 31st Street complex - the piers to the north, inside the harbor, the outlet to the south - has much more accessible smallie cover than Burnham - more docks, weed lines, rip-rap, and drop-offs.

Tight lines!

Smallie fishing is a bit spotty right now, but you can literally catch them anywhere on the lakefront if you are familiar with bass fishing at all.
