Considering hitting up Heidecke from shore this Sunday. If anybody has been out recently or gets out before then and has any advice as to what's "going" out there please let me know.
Planning on fishing minnows or crawlers under slip bobbers. Plugs wise, have the fish been showing a preference towards firetiger or natural?
Thanks, Slobasaurus

I was on the shore there yesterday morning from 8:30 to 10:30. The water is dark green so firetiger is probably the way to go. I found baitfish skipping around so I stood in that spot for an hour casting a rattle trap, a blade bait, a shad rap and a paddle tail swimbait but got no action. Good luck, let us know how you do.

Thanks Maliboo- very good to know. I may be altering my Sunday plans to fish Salmon on Lake Michigan but it is still up in the air.

Ended up chasing salmon on the big lake Sunday instead of going out to Heidecke. We went 2 for 3, landing a 2-3 lb brown and a 9.5lb brown, losing a nice fish after about a ten minute fight. It was probably a big king. Never did see it as it broke the line...
When does Heidecke close? May head out 10/2 or 10/3. Thanks.

I was out Saturday afternoon pulled crankbaits, slow going 1 keeper eye 20" two nice stripers & one small eye!!
Had a guy run over my planner boards he said he didn't see them? No other boats on the north side and I have deal with this guy, I just keep my mouth shut and reset.
I will sign a petition JimL The duck hunting can't be that good anyway!!!!!!!

i would totally sign a petition! lets keep the water level up too! i have a feeling that's why the fishing has been sort of lame there the past few years... not to mention the fact that the plant is shut down.

Sport Show season not that far down the road. Good way to reach out to a lot of people by making the right connections. Get a couple exhibitors involved at each show and a little publicity and things could roll. Not sure about the viability or legality of on-line petitions. Michigan didn`t make any points with them in the carp wars. Nothing beats real people in black and white. Tackle shops as well as the big boys are also good gathering grounds. Most will donate space for a table and couple of chairs for a good cause in return for a few kind words in return. Add a few volunteers to man it on a weekend. Walla! Signed petitions!! It is very possible with sincerity of those involved. First though it would have to be determined who is responsible for making these decisions in effect and then the petitions go to his or hers boss. That the political way. Sound simple? Its not but could be with the right people behind it and corp of interested workers. Sound familiar? Chicago Style Politics. It works. Tom Cooney
