Fished from 1 - 6 PM. Only about 20 boat trailers in the parking lot. But most of them must have been on the North side because I only seen 4 on the water. Trolled cranks the whole time on the South side. Ended up catching 1 fish but it was a nice fat 20 inch walleye. Was a great day to get out. Talked to a guy at the launch when going out, he caught a few stripers while trolling on the North side. One was a nice 4 pounder. I love/hate this lake. I know what kind of fish are in there but man are they tuff to pull out. Till next year!
BTW it was released :)

Nice fish - good way to end the year. I was going to take the day off and give it one more try, glad I saved the vacation day instead. I cannot believe how dirty the water has been the second half of this year, 3"-4" inch visibility at best, the Illinois River was clearer than H. Not sure why it is so dirty, maybe the low water and hot summer had something to do with it, but it did not make fishing any easier. I'm glad it is closed so I can stop beating my head against the wall out there and start doing the same on the Illinois.. :bang

Last Day, I had to go out just to say I did and to refresh my memory, it will be 6 months before I can do that again.
Caught 1 crappie and 2 white bass in 2 hours, all released. Talk to the regulars "ED" & company, slow day for them too.
Time to hit the river.....and a trip to Shelbyville.

Best of luck until next year on the "H".

Good lookin' fish Luv2, and way to go releasing her! :goodjob The 5th kind of snuck up on me.. Would have liked to have gotten out one more time at H but guess I'll have to wait until next year like everyone else. The wife and I are going to see what kind of trouble we can get into on the Illinois tomorrow.

Nice Walleye. Good job on the CPR. My question is what kind of boat are you using? It looks like a Tahoe? Where did you get the rodholder set up?

You are correct that is a Tahoe Q3. I had to find a boat that the wife was comfortable riding in and felt safe. Not the best fishing boat but it will do. :)

The trolling system is called THE FOLD & TROLL. Here is the site. But I think I bought my from Cabelas.

I have the Q4sf also for the wife reasons. I have to admit it is a good family boat and alot of fun, we just have to be a little creative when it comes to using it as a fishing machine. How do you like the trolling system? hows it working for ya?

It gets the job done. A little pricey if you ask me. I really dont have a choice if I want to troll. All in all it works out well. I just fold it up and put it away when not being used.
