Heyy, been up here in IL for about a year now and loving the inland fishing but i cant seem to get a hang of the big pond. Im actually on the navy base so i get to fish the harbor which is pretty quiet other than the few other sailors tossing in a line. Ive been considering heading up to waukegan or kenosha...?? Ive been throwing the croc spoon, some spinners, and just playing around with spoon colors without any luck. Anyone have any suggestions. Was out for 3-4 hours tonight and got the big skunk as its been that way for a few weeks....

Your by some prime waters. Check in with the local bait shops - keep away from the big box stores. Being a friendly familiar face helps loosen lips. Spends a buck or two, ice, pop, a lure .. a nice thanks for there help. Get up to Waukegan and Kenosha, alot of good people to talk to.

Waukegan is ok due to the closeness to the base but they took away alot of the good spots out there Kenosha will be a good spot for browns in the next few weeks or so the action is better the further north you go Wisconsin is great not only because of the lake but it also has a ton of tributaries(rivers) you can fish for these monsters the license is steep in price but well worth it in my opinion due to what you'll catch once you learn how to fish them where to fish them and when to fish for them Good Luck
