Can't beat whole kernel corn.Another simple recipe involves using yellow corn meal.If you want 2 cups finished product, boil 2 cups water, add a little karo corn syrup, vanilla extract,or strawberry kool aid mix.Turn off burner, stir in 2 cups yellow corn meal,it will tighten up.Transfer it to cutting board or counter, and knead it for a bit like dough.Carefull it will be hot!Put it in freezer,or just let it cool awhile. When you roll it into small balls for fishing, this mixture really tightens up when you dip it in the water,Dont bother with those doughbait hooks, dont need em.Keep your hooks small, dont need a big baitball either, dime sized,or a little smaller is enough.Set up a slip sinker rig on the bottom.Definetaly chum a bit too.Dont walk away from your poles, unless you feel like swimming after em.Go on internet, you tube,etc.. learn to tie the hair rig, your hooking percentage will increase dramatically.Good Luck.

If there was a carp competition on the Duper, my son and his friend claim they would win it in a walk. Their choice of bait is Wonderbread since it balls up and holds together well.
