Fished the K3 for the first time today - put in at the duck launch near 3 rivers and worked my way up from the desplaines into the k3 and did some exploring along the way. Hit a lot of spots but didn't give any much work, just a pass, noted the bottom type, depth, current, and moved on. Didn't make it too much further than past the first bridge from the mouth. Once I find a closer launch will have more time to work upstream, very promising river to say the least. Found a nice rock pile in 12ft of water and got two fish on one pass, one 18" and one 16".

Hit the hot water discharge from Dresden on the way back and beat up on the dink large mouth and smallies, white gulp actually outfished the minnows there.

The launch I used by big basin drafts about 1ft for a good 1/4 mile out to the channel, so I would think your boat would be a no go, unless you have a way to get through very shallow stuff. There is another launch down by three-rivers which is not as big a flat, but was not deep enough to even cover the trailer wheels. I saw some guys putting a boat in there, but it was small like mine and looked like they were in the water putting it on the boat.
