Decided to head out to Oregon to fish below the dam late Saturday night. Fished from 10pm to 12am.

Landed this lady about 11pm.

Image

For reference my minnow bucket is 9.5" wide. She was a meaty girl. Had her out long enough to dig out my phone and snap a few pic's and back in the river she went. Anyone want to guess how long she is? I didn't have anything to measure her with or a scale.

Fished the west side of the river, right in front of the stairs. Fathead minnow was the bait. Fished something similar to a Lindy rig.

Caught 2 other male's in the 13" -15" range. Was getting cold, decided to call it a night. Be cafeful if you go out there late, the deer were bouncing all over rt.64 on the way come. Came real close to a few.

Nice goin' Craig. How ya been?

As a point of reference, my Dad's (N9Phil) Rock River walleye last spring went 7lbs, 12 oz and was 27.5 inches long.

Nice to see fish like that still there after the whole train derailment fish kill incident.

Congrats!

I think that fish could be pushing 10 lbs if you count the mud.

Hey Jeff,

Was good to get out and feel a fish at the end of a line. Wasn't expecting the first fish to start pulling out my drag, but I'll take it. When I was trying to dig out my phone that was buried in a deep pocket, she flopped all around, I wasn't thinking about the dirt/mud all over. Knowing my luck if I tried to clean her up, she'd get away. (anyways, I like my women dirty   )

Going to try to head back out next weekend. Gonna keep an eye on the weather, with all the rain were suppose to get, it might be a good thing getting that water warmed up a bit.

Took a look at your dad's fish from last spring, nice fish. I've caught a few fish over the past couple of years in the 25" - 28" range out of the Rock, just wish I lived closer.

Here's one from a few years back.

Wasn't thinking, wish I rinsed off the dirt. She was a football, quite the pig. Will have my scale with me next time. It's murphy's law though, whenever I'm fully prepared and have everything I should have I get the skunk. Have my best luck when I just wing it.
