The guys at fish-tec ( Morton Grove ) believe we might have some hardwater next week. With the weather thats gonna be moving in this weekend and the projected temps for next week, they believe we'll be on the ice soon!! is that premature? What do you guys think!

I drive by channel every day to and from work, the small farm ponds are frozen up, no idea of thickness, Channel south end had about 15 feet of ice skim this morning, gone by afternoon, the swamp area across 173 was frozen, so was the des plains river by Wadsworth this morning, I give it 2 weeks, still sticking to Dec 17th. Once the snow hits on sunday I think it may hold the cold temps around for a few nights and help out.
