On the water at sunrise, the day look promising just a few clouds in the sky. Launched out of grass lake, on the way to fox lake. There were a few reports of white bass being caught so we were there. It took us almost 30 minutes to get there since there was a no wake in effect. We started marking fish on the lowrance and the vexilar so we figured it had to be white bass. Sure enough second cast of the day a five inch white bass and after catching about 10 small white bass we went down to the another point and started getting in to bluegills. We were anchored in 7 FOW. The action was non stop. Then the storm clouds and thunder moved in, first there were only a few drops of rain, then more and more. We gathered our things, with the gills still biting and back to dry land we went. On the way back it started raining hard, but oh well I guess 86 bluegills is worth it 8)~ . All the gills were caught on custom jig and spins gill pills size 8 and 10 tipped with waxies and my secret weapon, berkley gulp red minnows heads. These are really good to use and give the jigs a nice motion in the water. PS as of 2pm the chain was reopened, so all the boaters can have the rest of the day.

Hey Shime, it took a couple of hours give or take, but will only take the family a hour to eat them

Sure is nice read about some trophy's being brought to hand. A fun day for you and your crew for sure. Those custom jigs-n-spin folks know how to make them (wsj's favorite is the ratso).

Thank you for uplifting our friend wsj with the beautiful pics. :gpost
