Now that we are in the peak of pleasure boat season on the chain, what does that do to the musky action? Is it worth even trying now, or wait until fall?

I have been out about 4 times Muskie fishing so far this year and I would say it's worth going. You can mark the thermocline down about 15 feet over like 20-30FOW and I have been marking a lot of stuff in that range. I caught a small one (23") last week on Marie trolling and have seen some decent ones up in Catherine. I was out Tuesday and I saw a guy catch one on a Spoonplug of all things. I would try to go when the traffic out there quiets down a little, maybe during the week or at night. Water temp is right around 80.

Check the water temps, some of the guides are not guiding because the water is too hot to fish muskies right now.

Was up there yesterday (friday) after some panfish and it was dead. Tried all the normal spots and just a few here and there. Went and drifted around Pistakee before the boaters came out and just caught drum. The water was dirty/ murky, probably from all the rain running in from the river. There was good current by the bridges and did see a few walleye guys jiggin. The water temp was between 72-78 degrees.
