It was a windy day out on the chain today, so I pretty much stayed in the channels looking for slabs. Some channels had nada and some had the mother load. Minnows and small hair jigs under a float was the ticket again. Caught at least 40 slabs today 9-12". Only kept enough for a meal. Water temps hoovering around 51-52 in the channels. Main lakes were at 48 today. When I launched at the state park at 9am I was the only rig in the lot when I came in at 3pm I was still the only rig in the lot :? . Where did everyone go? I only saw 1 other fishing boat out today and a DNR boat pulling their fish traps on Lake Marie. I think the forecast scared everyone home today. Anyway it was kinda nice.....weird but nice

Thanks for the report RSS.

What do you think is the difference between the channels that produced and the ones that didn't?

Marc, I think at was the wind blowing some cooler surface water directly into the ones that did not produce. With next weeks warm up coming all channels on the chain will be full of slabs. 65 degrees and sunny I feel a few more days off work coming 8)

Hey Ron, did you ever get involved in any of those Walleye tourneys on the chain? I thought they just finished one up. Kinda low turnout, but the weather was just ugly.

Another month and its Winnebago, reefs and slip bobbers!
