I was thinking about picking up a drift sock for the Kayak. When the winds pick up I drift way too fast to manage likable fishing, especially deeper humps piles etc. I was thinking a sock in 18-24 inch range? Any thoughts?

I don't want something too big and that will snag up when bringing fish in. There is not much room to fight a fish around obstacles on the kayak.

I catch your drift Travis- I think 18-24 inch maybe be a little big for a kayak. Usually they tell you what size to get on the package, manufacture site or store site.

I got 18-24 from some west coast kayak fishing sites however, the big difference is that they are also fishing surf water or big water in general.

I would think that what ever guys are using for 14 - 16 ft hulls might compare?

Get a 24 inch sock, kayaks catch a little more wind than most people expect.
