When I was landing the steelhead in the second pic I grabbed the fish rather than netting it and ended up with a treble pretty deep in my thumb while still attached to the fish. One thing I always tell people at my seminars is to get the hooks out of the fish while it is in the net at the side of the kayak and that is the exact reason why. i think ill remember to practice what I preach from now on!

I always use the mirage drive. It allows me to keep my hands free. Being able to keep one bait trolling while retying the other has actually allowed me to catch quite a few fish normally wouldn't have. Another thing is the amount of thrust the mirage drive produces makes dragging planer boards extremely easy! One of my favorite advantages to the mirage drive is how I can sit and drink coffee while i'm trolling! That was a little difficult back in my paddle days.
