This has been a work in progress for a couple years now. 10 years ago I told myself that I wanted to have a mount that had a smallmouth and a largemouth on it. I also told myself that both fish had to be over 20" before I would get them mounted.

I started with a 20" smallie that I caught 5 years ago. I had a friend mount it for me (his first smallie) he did a great job I think and he only charged me for the form and eyes.

That is when I decided that I now needed a bigger largemouth than 20". I have a caught my share of 20" over the last couple years but I just could not bring myself to get one of them done. This year I was lucky enough to catch not only a 21" but also a 22" on the same day. The 21" same away, but the 22" was tounge hooked and I released her only to see her floating about 20 min later. So she went home with me.

Another buddy just started mounting fish for fun and I decided to let him give it a shot. He had never done a bass before but he had got down walleyes. So he did the mount and then called me when he was ready to paint it. I went over because he wanted input on what I thought the colors needed to be. So we watched a video and he painted it step by step along with the video. I think for the first bass it came out great.

I had a nice piece of wood that I was saving just for this day. My wife said she think we need a bigger wall now. But that is just her way of trying for a new house :crazy
