This isn't a true trophy smallmouth, but any 4+ pound smallie is good in my book. Caught this fish on Thursday strokin a jig in about 18' of water.

Thanks guys. It sure was a welcome sight seeing a smallmouth after my buddy had caught a few white bass and true stripers on a DD22. Can't wait to get back out there since that deeper bite hasn't really started yet.

Nice fish for sure. Love the fight those things give makes them seem twice a big till ya pull them aboard. Just when are you out of school? Going to miss the southern reports though

My daughter & I were down there last week.
Blood River
I managed 2 Smallies by accident. Maybe a pound and a half each.

Thanks guys. I caught this one around the Paris bridge, about 50 miles south of Jonathon.

WSJ--I'll be done with school in December, although I may postpone it until the summer to fish the Boat US Collegiate National Championship in Paris, Tennessee next June. I know I shouldn't but I just can't help thinking about it.
