I hope everyone had a chance to read Steve Ryan's great article in the latest issue of the In-Fisherman about fishing for exotic species close to home. I always knew about Floida Peacock bass but the Knifefish is really really cool! Something to put on my todo list next time in Florida.
Since I just finished this big Peacock I thought that I would post a picture of it. The fish is 25 pounds and 38 inches long which is just shy of the world record. This is a reproduction of the actual fish which was released just a few weeks ago in Brazil.

I did happen to read that article. It was a very interesting read.
Excellent job on the reproduction Tom!

Tom:
Great job on that beast of a peacock bass!
As for the clown knifefish, definitely give it a try next time you are in Florida. Its all laid out in the InFisherman article, but if you need more info, drop me a line. I fished for them a little in SE Asia where they are native and never caught one. Then I fish with Butch down there and got several one afternoon. No doubt it would look great in your studio and would certainly throw off people.
Also, give bullseye snakeheads a try. While we only caught smaller snakeheads during the InFisherman TV show, a fish in the 6-8# range will tear you up. I can give you some shore spots on them as well.

Judging by the size of that boat Steve I'm not sure I would want to try to put one of those snakeheads in it with me!

blu1fin,
Nice clown knife, aprox how big was it,{length wise} do you remember? Aug & I have one in our aquarium at home that is a little smaller than the one you're holding. Very cool fish!
Upon further review of our clown knife, it's not as big as I had thought!!

Keats,
Tom does just about anything he can get a mold for. Also he does a great job on his skin mounts.

Yep Keats like Cory said anything that I can get a mold for I can do. I have some of my own molds like the 15" jumbo perch that the fishing magician caught last year. Most I order.
I will be posting a little pictoral of a repo in process coming up soon so everyone can see what goes into producing a mount from a molded fiberglass fish blank.
