Nice tiger. Gotta love the color of a tiger musky. If I ever got a big musky I'd want it to be a tiger, look very nice as replicas.

That fish was a gift from God.
I'll have to tell ya the story.
A neigbor of mine ( Chicago P.D. since moved away )
had an Uncle and Aunt that lived at Eagle Ridge
that big golfing community in Galena territories.
He asked me to go up with him and a fellow P.D. officer that lives around the corner from me.
As the day started out the other two guys were just drift fishing with light gear. They caught a couple panfish, a LMB and about a 9 lb Cat.
I was was slingin' Musky gear and never got so much as a sniff.
When I've had enough, I parked the hardware and joined in the driftin'.
10 minutes later I get what appears to be a snag. Then it started to move away.
The fish never surfaced until the end but made one power run after another. A couple of times we had to motor up the pontoon to keep it from Spoolin' me.
I almost S%it a brick when it surfaced about 5 ft from the pont.
We only had a small net aboard. Bob, the neighbor made a calculated scoop from the front and held the fish in as it came over the rail.
It slipped out of the net and flopped on the deck.
The lure fell right out.
He had been hooked in the point of the top of the mouth. How he never rolled or got that mono across those top rows of teeth I will never know.
After a couple of quick pics, it went smoothly into the water and swam right away.
I've looked around for the famous bait that caught that razor mouth. I put it away so good that I can't find it.
I wrote an article for the local Galena Paper that they ran with a pic of the fish.
If you ever get up that way the 8X10 Glossy is in the Boat/Bait ship and that Striped Tiger should still be in there waitin' for ya.
I also garnered a Illinois State Catch and Release Certificate and Pin.
The size limit for Musky on Lake Galena is 44 inches.
I think the public can get in there but it's pretty expensive. Nothing over 15 HP too I think.

I found that Giant Killer. It took a little bit of finding.
Gold Beetlespin with 1/8 oz Jig and Cream colored Tail. Look at the gap in that hook.
