The weather is always a hurdle to jump in early Spring and on Friday before the tournament it was very cold and windy. But, the weather gods were just scaring us, because by Saturday morning the lake calmed down nicely and it was game on.

17 boats braved the conditions and the fishing was tough, but a few boats did fairly well and here are the results.

1st Place - Bad Medicine, Capt. Chris Derue with 10 fish total of 48.8 lbs and 158.8 Pts = $85

2nd Place - Alco II, Capt. Jim Klausing with a 9 fish total of 51.2 lbs and 156.2 Pts = $51

3rd Place - Jawzon, Capt Jim Stepp with a 10 fish total of 37.8 lbs and 147.8 Pts = $34

Big Target Fish (King Salmon) Alco II, Capt. Jim Klausing 19.0 lb King = $68

Big Fish of Tournament - Alco II, Capt. Jim Klausing, 19.0 King = $170

Top Rookie Boat - Fish N Crew, Capt. Greg Williamson = $75

Congratulations to all the winning captains and crews, and to Jim Klausing, you're buying buddy. :)

Johnny Lazarich cooked another great barbeque of Italian sausage and brats, awesome John and thanks!
Johnny was bass fishing in the harbor after the barbeque and caught around 10 bass and missed that many too, he's not just an awesome cook.

See ya'll in two weeks where I hope we get a few more rookie boats involved to win some of Thermalcraft's money. Hopefully the weather is perfect?

p.s. Herb will get the full results up on our website shortly.

Just a reminder for the guys fishing the tournament who did not do that well.
After the BBQ and Weigh in the top three boats give a short presentation on where they fished, what they used and how they did it.
For those that need a little help or information or may be going back out fishing feel free to ask them questions its a great way to learn as well as get to know fellow members.

I just saw this. I'm on vacation up north but I do have my laptop. I will update on the website as soon as I can.

----UPDATE----
Tournament results have been posted to the SU website at http://www.salmonunlimitedinc.com/tournaments.html.

Glad to see the weather cooperated and the tournament went as scheduled!

Sounds like it was a good tournament with some pretty decent weather and good fishing to boot. These tournaments are always a lot of fun and I sure do miss fishing them.

Thanks, you're welcome. If the forecast wasn't so iffy, we would have had more boats. Hopefully next tournament it will be nice all weekend?

We didn't do so well but I still had fun. Food at the end is always good! Next time look out I should have my regular crew, not a bunch of sea sick rookies chumming and bird nesting my reels. I sure appreciate my good crew after this disaster of a tournament.
