Maybe you can get a "Tweet" that'll let you know when the start is...That would be a Sweet Tweet- :D

Believe Jim posted something about Tweeting to SU members- maybe that's to let you know that the tourney is on/off??

?? Has something changed? As I understand the rules a slipped boat can start from there harbor but still needed to be at Northpoint for the weigh in. Trailer boats needed to launch at NP. Driving up for the weigh in was allowed on occasions when after the start of a tournament weather - waves created a safety issue and an exception was made by the tournament comitee.

Direct from the Tournament Rule on the Salmon Unlimited webpage:

"All slipped boats may start out from their home port and call in to the tournament boat beginning one hour before
the tournament start time. All boats that are trailered must launch and leave from the designated tournament harbor.
Any boat taken out of the water to fish in another port will be disqualified."

You can start out from Waukegan if your boat is slipped there, not launched there. You can also drive your catch up to Northpoint if you're a slipped boat at another port. BUT, if you launch your boat you must do this at Northpoint.

Rules question? With numbers of Browns being caught off Lake Forest and Oak Creek, What are the boundaries for the contest Saturday?

The rules are on the SU website at http://www.salmonunlimitedinc.com/tournaments.html.

"All boats must catch all fish within the designated tournament area. The designated area consists of all waters between a northern boundary of 42°44’0” N and a southern boundary of 42°14’0” N. There is no limit to the distance a boat may travel east and west, as long as they remain on the lake."

I believe the Southern most distance is half way between Fort Sheridan and Highland Park and Lake Forest is well within the boundaries. Remember, fish move. ;-)

Nice shirt Tim!

I personally am hoping for about 50 foot waves. Then again, I can't make the first tournament. ;-)

Good luck. I hope everyone catches at least one that's not a brown trout.

If there is a small craft warning on Saturday morning our insurance does not cover us for the tournament, thus it would be cancelled.
