My daughter is 3 and a half and I would like to enter her in the tourney. My question is, what are the rules about parents helping kids. How much help can they give. I have had my daughter out on the lake before and I have helped her reel in fish but she can't do it on her own including casting. I know I can get some more kids in the 3-6 year old range out, most of which have never picked up a rod before or caught a fish. Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you,

You can help the kids all you need to and by all means, bring as many kids as you can. We love seeing the little ones out there get excited about bringing a fish up to a scale and hearing their name called out on the radio with whatever it is they caught. It just doesn't get any cuter than that.

"Little gocoach with an 8 oz. gobie" too funny!

Just click on the link on the first post and print out the form for as many kids as you need and either fax the form to the number on the sheet or mail it to the address or just bring it to the Porch at the Waukegan Port District the morning of the event. We prefer you to send it in early though so we can get a handle on how many people we need food for. You and the kids will have a great time.

For any of you Boy or Cub scout leaders, this is a great way to get them a fishing badge.
