It’s embarrassing to admit, but I have NOT hopped aboard the iPhone bandwagon. Yet. So I will leave it to my iPhone-endowed readers to give us their assessments of this new iPhone app, a sort of personal organizer package designed around boating. It’s called Boating Suite, and it’s just $5. http://www.navagear.com/2010/03/iphone- ... Newsletter

Damn Jim- this new fangled stuff always coming up!!!
I can't even find my phone half the time- at least now I usually can find my teeth 'cause I always try to put them in one place near my bed.

Stay off the WAGON!! I just bought a Nexus 1 Android and it leaves the IPhone in the ditch. The IPhone is like Windows 98 compared to the Nexus1 Android OS. The application you are speaking about is free as are most apps on The Google Nexus1. As in any Apple Product, Support is Poor to None. If you read the comparisons the Nexus will cost you much less for usage. You do not have be locked into a plan. The drawback is you have to buy the nexus phone for about $550.00 and then ad a phone carrier. Unlimited usage for 70.00 per month, that includes WIFI and E Mails and Texts. I can't put mine down.
I hear that Garmin will be coming with a new IPhone type product this month. The early reviews are good.

I recently switched over from a Blackberry to an iPhone and like it a lot. Never used the app you're talking about. However...
Google Earth Mobil helps me find my way back to the ramp in the strip pits. It gives you an areal view and uses the phone GPS to show you where you're at with a little blue dot.
Tally Counter is a free app that can be used for counting perch among other things.
Cheap Gas is a free app that tells you the reported gas prices of gas stations near your current gps location.
Boat Ramps is worth the 99 cents.
Navionics lake maps on the phone is $14.99.

Nice to have as back-up navigation out on the water or to mark a waypoint when on someone elses boat. I downloaded the north, east, and great lakes for under $30. Also, "moonphase" is an app worth 99 cents.
