Our next club tournament is Saturday, May 30 . We hope to see y'all there.

Johnny Lazarich is grilling brats and Italian sausage.

You can call in on channel 68 beginning at 5:00 A.M.

The tournament boat is Time Off.

Run time is 5:30 with lines in the water at 6:00. You must be back in the harbor by 1:00 P.M.

All boats must have their cooler in line at the salmon unlimited pavilion by 1:45 at the latest.

The target fish will be determined the morning of each event and called out by the tournament boat.

Hope to see everyone Saturday.

Jim

If for some reason, wind velocity, small craft warning, we have to cancel the tournament, I'll make an announcement on twitter @SUIllinois as soon as I can Saturday morning. If you don't have a twitter account, log on to Salmon Unlimited's web site, and in the lower third of the home page, our SU twitter log is right there and you can see all my tweets. I will have something posted right there.

Right now, Tuesday evening, the weather is looking iffy.

Greylion -
Is it possible for a delayed start for one of our Club Tournaments?
Or is it flat out cut & dry, as far as the insurance rulings?

I'm seeing quite a difference in weather reports on the web-sites. Possible high wind gusts, possible thunderstorms in the morning. Could get really ugly late Friday evening until Saturday morning. Yet again, it could all change and be just fine.
I do understand if there is a Small Craft Advisory - It is Cancelled.
If there is a Small craft Advisory that starts in the afternoon, does that make a difference?

Thanks,
Steven

If, for example, the waves were fine and a small craft warning doesn't go into affect until say 11:00 A.M., that would give us enough time to hold an official event. We only need to fish for 3 hours to have an official tournament that counts in the standings.

See rules: http://media.wix.com/ugd/922c5f_b4b0570 ... 238b07.pdf

6. Fishing Hours:
Tournament hours are 6am to 1pm for all tournaments in May and August, and 5am to Noon for all tournaments in June and July. Please check the schedule. If there is a small craft advisory in effect, the tournament will be cancelled and rescheduled for the designated make-up date. Three hours of fishing constitutes an official tournament. If a tournament is called due to deteriorating weather conditions after becoming official, all lines must be pulled at the time the tournament is called. The time limit for returning to the check-in is 90 minutes, unless cleared by a tournament official. Failure to pull lines when the tournament is called will result in disqualification. Failure to return within the time limit may also result in disqualification.
A. All tournaments called before three hours are up, will be unofficial, and will be re-run on a possible designated rain date.
B. A tournament may be called by the tournament committee because of bad weather and will be announced on Channel 68.
C. All registered boats must check in on Channel 68 before the tournament start time.

Don't forget to use your video cameras and/or phones for video clips while fishing. Thanks in advance

JabberJaws is questionable for tomorrow. My crew is concerned about the quick changing forecast for tomorrow and doesn't want to get caught in bad conditions. I know 3hrs of fishing is considered an official event but safety is my bigger concern.

Reel Guilty is also on the fence. The forecast looks ominous I guess it depends on when the front pushes through. The problem as always is every weather outlet has forecast a different time.

The (2) - Boy's said they have watched the "Deadliest Catch"... So, their ready for whatever the Lake throws at them!

We will just have to wait and see what the morning brings. You never can tell, it can all change overnight and turn out to be a great day on the water.
