I, for one, am pulling for team Greylion to pull off another victory and take Boat of the Year. What better way to finish off a fine tenure as President of SU Illinois?!

I wrote this whole article and for some reason I lost it all in cyberspace, so here we go again, for the last time.

12 boats braved the foggy conditions inshore and wavy conditions offshore, but we got the event in and the new Boat of the Year crowned.

Fish N Crew had an epic catch down by the Root river with huge Kings and won the tournament, but Do Jigger had a clutch performance and a key grand slam and won Boat of the Year! Congratulations to Captain Dave Malo and crew, well deserved.

1st Place - Fish N Crew, Captain Greg Williamson, 145.6 LBS for 260.6 Pts = $60

2nd Place - Do Jigger, Captain Dave Malo, 64.40 LBS for 229.4 Pts and a Grand Slam = $36

3rd Place - Migrator, Captain Caleb Weiner, 45.4 LBS for 125.4 Pts = $24

Big Fish of Tournament, Fish N Crew, 25.5 LB King $120

Big Fish of the Year caught 7-7-18 by Something Fishy, Captain Dave Konzal, 27.5 LB King = $87

Big 3 Tournament, (sponsored by: Thermalcraft Inc, Jack Olles, Ron Vallas, Ameriplateand Duck Bill Charters) Fish N Crew 68.3 LBS, Geez = $300

Big Target Fish - 6.8 LB Coho, Doin Fine, Captain Norb Piorek = $48

Rookie Boat of the Year - Migrator, Captain Caleb Weiner

I'd like to personally thank every single member that has fished any club tournament for the past 10 years. During that time your board of directors has invested $30,000 in the new fish cleaning table at Northpoint and around $60,000 for the new pavilion, which we all built through contributions and the hard work of many many members. Now Salmon Unlimited has a home to run these tournaments at and a nice secure storage facility for all our tournament equipment, not to mention the awesome ice machine donated by Doug McCallister. Your board of directors did their best, I'm proud of all of them and thank all the board members and officers who work so hard behind the scenes to produce these fine events.

i now retire from being the Tournament Chairman ten years is long enough, thanks for all your support!

All the Best,

Jim

Jim - Thanks for all your time and leadership over the past how many years! I've had a chance to see just a small bit of the work that you, the board, and a bunch of volunteers put into making this club as great as it is and am truly appreciative of all that you have done.

Ok now that's out of the way, just be warned - you've still got the cross-hairs squarely on your back in next year's tournament series. #2019istheyear!

Another Fun Season - With the "S.U. Illinois - Club Tournaments"

Thank you Tournament Committee (and Crew) - We "Smokin' Fish", had a great time as always!

The many different Grand Kids that were able to make it to the Club Tournaments this year was Awesome.
We were able to have (3) - Different Families make it this year (2) - Grand Kids from North Dakota, (2) - from the U.P. (Marquette) and the others from this area. The Grand Kids ranged from 5 - years old to 13 - years old. They all enjoyed good days on the water (although there were some big waves) along with fun at the weigh-ins and wonderful lunch's!

With a 7th Place overall finish, how can Grandpa complain!
Thank you all for the kind words and adding to the smiles on the Kid's faces! :thanks

Good Luck to All,
Steven
