With the exception of Monster Lake, all Mazonia lakes will close mid next week for waterfowl season.
jonniefishalot and I finished off our season this afternoon in good fashion. The crappie bit as well during the mid-day as we might have expected during any early morning or late afternoon.
We found fish deep and we found them in shallower wood cover.
Safety pin style spinners and jigs or 1/32nd ounce jigs n plastic tipped with larva or minnows took fish.
Big numbers of both blacks and whites can be had right now.
