If I were to go on a crappie hunt on the strip pits this weekend,
where would you suggest I take my hunt to?
What should I be using in order to tempt a bite?
Are whites any easier or more difficult to find and catch than blacks?
Has anyone here ever caught a crappie in the summertime before?
Should I just wait till ice over?
Whaat's Your Dream?

I just wish it would snow

I don't have the answer. I imagine this is just a tease.
If you were to go you might want to take along a ........getdanet.

Hard to say. Wish I could help but, I'm one of the 80% of crappie fishermen who catches crappies during 20% of the season. :oops:

A #2 Salmo Hornet did the job.

No;
It was only a last minute decision to do a crappie hunt. We were going to head home, thinking we had had enough of the heat but decided to look for an area of newly dropped cover in Monster. While we were looking for the cover we happened to pass over a school of crappie, as indicated by the sonar and I was pulling the Hornet and the Hornet did its job and tempted a bite. John tied on a similar Hornet and we took to trolling the like depth around the lake but only made one pass and only hooked up with 3 more before being forced to leave by a crop dusting airplane that was spraying insecticide upwind of the lake.

We have been able to stay on crappie in the North unit all season so far without any problem until today.

There must be a lake somewhere, within an hours dive or so, where we can take a boat after dark, with a floating light, and catch crappies.
