Man did I ever mess up!

Talk about plum ruining a good thing…
Jonniefishalot and I were trying to make plans for a fish hunt for today.
Problem was, we wanted to do Willow Slough but to and fro is two hours of drive time, precious time for this day.
I could do a morning only on the water as long as we were off the water, boat loaded, gear put away and on the road for home by 11:00am. That would get me home by noon, showered, dressed and out the door by 12:30, downtown at 1:30, parked, into the U.C, grab a bite and a Sam’s and be in my seat by puck drop time.

I’m pleased to report; everything went almost perfectly according to plan…

Not really.

Fishalot was here at 4:45am,
we’re on the water by 6:15 and then once we find our fish, the bite was on.
Time seems to just fly by, the fish are cooperating and we’re getting crappies, red ear, various sizes of largemouth and some really nice hard battling bluegills.

Before we knew it though, our time was up. My telephone was reading 10:30 and we had to quit right then, right when things were really starting to get good.
We had to go.

So here is where it all goes bad.
We load the boat, store the gear and drive off.
Then, I catch a look at the clock on the dashboard.
That clock is reading 9:58am, two minutes to ten o'clock.
Whaa??

Oh no;
I forgot:
My telephone switches to the Eastern Time zone in the area of Willow Slough.
The dash clock was correct
It was flat out killing us to leave that water
and we had pulled off

all of an hour early.

This is where you and I differ...
Any day fishing (Good, bad or otherwise) is better than watching any kind of hockey game.
In my 50 years, I've intentionally watched (not including news highlights) less than 1 minute of hockey
