A 420 fish. Water temps have reached the mid 60's and the males are fanning amongst the stalks.

I had been out this past Sunday and had a playoff / fish towel in the boat and had taken a few photos of fish on the towel. I might have posted a report but the towel was one of last season's playoff towels. Just had to go back to get the stuff all current. Lots of smallish single bass hanging out with bubba sized single fat gals about everywhere I went today.

I have been out a good bit but the winds.... On Monday, I read the Accuweather forecast and they were predicting very light winds for Tuesday, so I two timed my tools in the morning, made a beeline out of the city and was afloat by early afternoon. Conditions were to marvel at. The water was at 65 degrees. Winds were delicate. The crappie were moving into the spawning bays and I had a bunch of em in no time flat. I relocated to a clear water lake to see if I could find a redear and the first fish I caught was just that. The water temp on the clear water lake was 64 degrees and I never found a shallow crappie but there were nice gills all over and they were all willing biters. Stayed out a little too long and had to release all my fish for I knew I wouldn't have time to clean them before the start of the game. I think I should have just kept and cleaned the fish and said the heck with the sorry hockey. Now what am I gonna eat? Poor me. No wife No food Bad hockey Poor Any

I was out saturday and monday and the highest temps i found were 62*f. I have really been getting ALOT of small crappie and the large ones mixed in. I have been fishing mainly two lakes this year and really working them hard to find there patterns. I can always catch them just not alot of big ones. I just bought a humminbird 597ci and it has really helped finding fish this year on the boat.

The resemblance of your grand pup and Antti Niemi is um....uncanny!Nice fish. Are you dapplin the reeds or dropping a float next to them? Some fond memories of pole fishing is why I ask.

I dabble the base of the phragmites with the long rods on lakes other than the one I was working this day. I had to stay back and make long casts with 1/32nd ounce jigs in order to not spook the fish. The sun was high and with the lack of wind, I was highly visible to the fish and they all knew I was after em.
