Hello all,
I was looking to take my family for a trip to the Chicago River on my 16ft Lund. I was planning to put in on the Cal Sag in Worth. I know that you can take the sag west to the shipping canal North which connects to the Chicago river. My plan was to take the family for a ride to see the buildings from the river and then flip around at the locks and come back, I have no intentions to take the boat into Lake Michigan. I haven't been able to find much info on distances or hazards along the route. I was checking to see if anyone else has made this trip before? I want to make sure I have enough gas in one tank to make the trip and if it's safe. Also about how long does the trip usually take? Thanks

DO IT COUPLE TIMES A YEAR SHOULD BE SAFE FOR YOUR BOAT
LOT OF FUN FOR WHOLE FAMILY
ALL OF DOWN TOWN IS "NO WAKE" LOT OF NEW PLACES TO PULL IN AND GRAB SOME THING TO EAT ECT

START EARLY GIVE YOUR SELF PLENTY OF TIME TO GET OFF THE RIVER BEFORE DARK KEEP YOU EYES OPEN AND AWARE OF BARGE TRAFFIC

I put in at western ave. $27 to launch. Haven't ever had a problem there. The wife loves the ride.
