went out early this morning really looking for a few crappie, and found theseImagekept my limit of 6 between 15-18" good eaters. nothing big but a great couple meals still. ended up landing 9 eyes 3 rock bass and a nice crappie. they're finally finished with the spawn. all fish came on a sz 6 husky jerk ch/bl/orange belly

I got 4 walters last night, 3 males and 1 female FULL of eggs. DNR says they spawned out 3 weeks ago, I guess these didn't listen. I've cleaned 30+ walleye in the last month and every stomach was empty except for 1 that had a small bluegill in it...makes me think something happened to the shad.

all 6 looked to be spawned out males, still had the sacks but looked to be absorbing them. also all had empty stomachs so im thinking they're just finishing up now.at least where i'm at. dates and current temps don't predict the spawn of fish, just estimate it. they spawn when they feel things are right and they're ready. typically eyes are done mid april but I've never seen a fish with a calendar.
