I got out carp fishing on the I and M canal in Lemont today. I had two rods setup, one with corn and one with a nightcrawler. About a half hour I was walking along the shoreline of the canal and heard a weird slurping sound. I looked into the water and saw some weeds moving around. I figured it was a frog because I had never heard a fish make any sounds like that. After looking into the water for a few minutes I grabbed my nightcrawler rod and let my worm rest on top of the of the weeds right where I was heard that slurping sound. The worm eventually made its way through the weeds and immediately something grabbed it. I set the hook and pulled out one of the ugliest carp I've ever seen. It must have broken its back at one point. It was a decent one though, around 5lbs. Awhile later I got a bite on the corn and pulled in about a 3lb carp. Fished for another hour and a half with no action after that. I started packing up and as soon as I picked up my rod something started taking line. I set the hook and brought in a monster bullhead, easily the biggest one I ever caught. Anyway, here are some pictures:
Ugly carp (the picture doesn't do it justice as to how ugly it really was):

Nice job Connor! Glad you are back at it, catching some Carp in the canals. That is a strange looking Carp, for sure! Always enjoy reading your posts, keep it up!
