Hi I'm new to fishing and to this site. I was wondering if it was worth while to go fishing on Navy Pier and if anybody has been catching anything yet. Thanks for any info you can give me.

The planetarium is an awesome backdrop to catch a coho from shore. I have done that a few times.

I also heard people are pulling some nice trout out the water back there. I was there yesterday from 7am to 12:30, some older gentleman came 10 mins after I did. He was powerlining and NOTHING, he got 2 small cohos which he threw back in and the 3rd was a keeper. Water was muddy and water was flat at first maybe this is why..

This time of year, people tend to fish elsewhere due to the cost of parking at Navy Pier... Most people are looking for Coho, Browns, and Steelhead and they aren't relating to any specific structure for the most part... They are cruising the entire shoreline along Chicago... It's not like fishing Navy Pier in the Winter when the Perch are there specifically for the weed beds...

So basically Navy Pier isn't any better or worse then any other pier for fishing but definitely more expensive haha. Thanks.
