with everyone getting excited about ice fishing i'm not ready to give up casting, so went out last night enough wind to keep away skim ice in most spots.
I was rough casting 21* had my guides freezing up every few casts but it payed off with a decent fish, pics aren't great but I had to get her back quick fins started freezing in under a min.landed a 24" snake pike but wasn't worth taking off my gloves for a pic, casters still have time

Way to man up and get out. I went as far as loading up my trunk with my box of stick baits, a walleye rod, and a heavier coat before I wimped out and decided to stay home. The end of this week looks favorable with some more comfortable temps and a new moon Saturday.

it was wolf, the eyes have been slower then normal this year from shore,my guess is the connections to Lm. kings got in this year but also baby shad. a huge school of shad came in a few weeks ago thousands, the corn channel is loaded, hard to get a full fish to hit a lure

very nice fish.

do the kings really run all the way up the river and through that creek by Torrence? Its only inches deep in spots. Only spot I could see unless there is a buried connection by the casino.
