Nice catch!!!! Good to see a quality fish in the river. Maybe they are doing their part and eating up some of the gobies. Good job on the CPR!

Those fish have got to be migrating down from Sturgeon Bay or comming up the river. My guess is they are migratiing down. Same place the northern's and smallies are coming from. All in all it's nice to see the walley, northern & smallies. I saw northern in Diverey 15 -20 years ago so there have to be a few 40"+ around somewhere. If that fish looked so clean it must have come out of the lake.

Now that's why I love fishing. You never know what you might get. Congrats on a great fish. I would love to start seeing some eyes caught around this area

I do know for a fact (I saw them) that fish that have NOT been seen in the ILLINOIS waterway for many years have been hatched raised AND released into streams that enter the lake.

John, If the DNR does not have the funding for a stocking program, could not some groups or clubs get together, gather the funds needed and do a stocking program?

We touched on this and there is a ton of red tape involved plus very costly with VHS testing. We shifted our club to conservation efforts elsewhere.
