Fished the Chicago River at Wells & Wacker from 11:30 to 12:30 at lunchtime. Got one Largemouth. Saw alot of fish and had several follow but not bite. Saw some real nice sized largemouth, and some smaller smallies.

I've tried Rapalas/ tubes / twister tails / wacky worm / spinners. They seem to follow and tap but then do not want it. There seems to be a lot of potential here if I can get them to bite.

Fat, thanks for the reports man, keep them coming.

Two weeks ago i move over to craws with the water warming up and did real well. I keep three different types in my bag and these were the hot bait for the second season in a row.

Most of the time I run them on a 1/16 ounce jig head. I work them off the bottom and if I want to swim them I still get a natural craw action.

I can't tell you how many times I've dropped one in front of a suspend fish and they go down after them and pickup.

Thanks for the report. I work a few blocks from there at Michigan/Wacker. I have often thought of sneaking down there with a rod during lunch.
