after two days of good rain decided to do a go round of all my favorite holes, but something surprised me at wolf lake, a surpriseing drop in water level on th illinois side of the lake, it seems to me the recent boost in the indiana half of wolf lake is because , in my observation indiana is somehow getting more water on its side of wolf lake, 5yrs ago i witnessed the dregging of the indiana side, this allows more water flow, shrinking the water levels in illinois, with its overgrown plant habitat and poorly funded restoration, whom by the way i might add have no idea of what thier doing, i have never witnessed any dregging efforts on the illinois side of power state park, as a youngster i remember catching jumbo perch , white bass, even saw sea horses, now i have to dodge the infestation of ticks. and if this problem is not addressed i see a drastic decline in water level so drastic i doubt anyone would dare to bring a boat on the water, if anyone else has noticed please respond with any input.

Actually the ILL side water level raised a bit. The Indiana side was dropped to help flooding problems in Robertsdale. If you look at the damn on indian creek in the park you will see the ILL side water level is actually up.

I was fishing the Illinois side yesterday and the lake levels seem normal to me.3 largemouth,1 smallie,1 pike, all small however.I agree with cichlidfinder, unless the flow into indian creek changes dramatically, you've gotta no reason to be concerned.

I think there are still plenty of leaches and crayfish in the Wolf system, seen them last year. I haven't made it out this year.
